Virtual Business Management Challenge #2 Hints
- When you open the Challenge 2 file, you do not have very many employees working in your warehouse and you have five customers. Without enough employees you will not be able to fulfill orders.
- If you don't have enough employees staffed at each job position, you can create bottlenecks within your warehouse. Be sure to review the Tutorial so that you know the job descriptions for each of the positions.
- Be sure to supervise your employees. You may give your employees warnings if they are absent too often or if their productivity levels aren't high enough.
- If employees fail to improve after you have warned them, you may fire them. Be sure to warn them at least two times before firing them. Otherwise, you will be at risk for a lawsuit.
- Be sure to monitor your employees' reaction to workload and pay. You may stop the simulation and click on an employee to see how they feel. Employees will quit if they are unhappy with workload or pay.
- If you would like to give your employees a raise, you may use the Compensate Employees screen to give groups of employees a raise. You may also give all of your employees at once a raise.
- The current floor layout in your warehouse could use some rearrangement for productivity and customer satisfaction reasons.
- Your warehouse is located in the Midwest. Be aware of seasonal changes and products that customers may prefer to purchase at certain times of the year and adjust your purchasing accordingly.
- If you scroll over your customers, you will see their top selling item. Make sure you allocate enough shelf space for this particular item within your warehouse.
