FBLA 2010 National Champions

Congratulations to the 2010 FBLA Virtual Business Challenge (VBC) national champions! Team members Nhayoung Hwang, Kwan-Keat Ang and Ritvik Dhavale of "Taste the Painbow" from Cupertino High School in California placed first in the VBC national competitive event held in Nashville, Tennessee from July 14-16 during the FBLA National Leadership Conference.

The top 14 teams out of 1,300 teams participated in the FBLA VBC at the national conference. The qualifiers were determined during the 2009-2010 school year through their participation in one of two qualifying rounds held via the Internet. Teams were challenged with trying to make as much profit as possible for their distribution center given a certain set of circumstances and business concepts to manage.

During the live, timed event at the NLC, VBC competitors utilized the multiplayer functionality found in the Virtual Business - Management 2.0 software simulation. This means that the four teams participating within each session were competing directly against one another within the same geographic area within the simulation. Teams had to make decisions quickly, tactically and efficiently in order to move on in the double-elimination competition.

After several months of strategizing and practicing, "Taste the Painbow" emerged as this year’s national champion. Congratulations to all of the FBLA VBC national qualifiers! It was a tremendous accomplishment to qualify to compete in this event at the NLC. We appreciate all of your hard work and effort. And, we hope to see your chapters back in the rankings during the 2010-2011 school year.
