The starting point for the road to nationals was a loss in the first challenge to a team we knew all too well because they attended our school, North Miami Beach Senior High. Our team, composed of Ricky Adolphe, Maton Orgel, and Cody McCaughan, was named First Place and we were determined from that point on to hold true to our name and win. The challenge was definitely not easy, but the time we spent working eventually paid off when at the end of the second challenge we came out on top. Yet this was only the beginning, for we would soon face a new level of competition at nationals. We knew that the challengers at the International Career Development Conference would be the best of the best yet we started the trip with an unparalleled confidence that was a result of what we overcame to get there and the countless hours spent preparing for the battle to come. Our drive to beat the best and be the best was fueled by our sponsor and mentor Glenn Rubinstein, and his confidence in us, combined with our trust in ourselves lead us the our ultimate goal of being DECA national champions.
